Sunday school

At the central ALMI church we have been making a lot of changes. One thing we really wanted to add was a Sunday morning service for the children. They had a Friday night kid's service but many feared sending their children because they would have to walk back home in the dark. So we felt that the service should be held Sunday morning instead.

Today was our very first Sunday School!! We had 15 children come, a very good start. We started off letting each one share what they would like us to pray for. Almost every child asked for prayers for their parents. Which is very important because we desire for these kids to bring their parents to the church as well. We then sang a few songs, and had a couple of specials. Our memory verse for today was Matthew 1:21. The pastors wife taught on the birth of Jesus. We had prayer for each of them and then did a craft of the manger scene.

Nehemiah did a wonderful job leading a song as well

Yesterday I was blessed to take money sent from
Sis Tonya Richmond's 1st and 2nd graders and purchase
supplies for Sunday School. Thanks for your giving!!
Working on their projects
This service was unlike any other they had had before. Many children at first were very hesitant to even use the crayons, scissors, and glue. But once they started, they enjoyed it so much!! Even some of the adults wanted to join in the fun and color. It was such a blessing to see the joy in their faces. Of course we sent them home with some special treats too!

Even the smallest wanted to participate!

We are expecting these services to grow quickly with more and more children. Please pray that God will lead and direct us at every point. These children are so precious to Christ and us too.
